Designation: CALIFORNIA WHITE WINE - COLOMBARD CHARDONNAY

Vintage: 2006

Grape variety(ies): Blend of white variety (mainly Colombard), particularly suited to the climate of the valley.

Origin: Central California Valley, near the city of Cutler.

Soil: Varied over the whole producing area, there are sandy, clay-chalky and stony soils.

 

Vinification:

The grapes are generally harvested at night (cool) when just ripe. The juice is extracted by crushing, draining and pressing at a low temperature. Fermented at a very low temperature (15 - 18° C) for a week. The wine is rapidly fined and preserved at a low temperature.

 

Characteristics:

- Colour: Clear, very pale yellow with green lights.

- Nose: Aromatic, with pineapple, with flowers and white pears.

- Palate: Round and pleasing wine, with notes of white pears.

 

Recommendations: This wine is ideal with fish, cold buffets, white meat. It may be served with some types of cheese.

 

Serving condition in C°: 10 - 12
