Glenfiddich Malt Masters Edition

The Glenfiddich Malt Master's Edition was named for the distillery's sixth Malt Master, Brian Kinsman, as he was their first Malt Master to double-mature Glenfiddich whisky in two different casks. This expression was initially matured in traditional oak casks, but was then finished for a number of years in Sherry casks to further develop the flavours, bringing warming fruitcake and gingerbread notes to the table.

Malt master Brian Kinsman has given some of the distillery's peated single malt a three-month finishing period in rum casks - but not just any old rum casks. He's selected rum casks from a variety of South American countries to finish this whisky, which ought to play nicely with the burly peat notes at its core.

A sherried Glenfiddich originally released for the distillery's travel exclusive Perpetual collection, this single malt was aged in Spanish Sherry casks. Intriguingly, only half the whisky in the vat is bottled before it's refilled with fresh spirits, in the style of classic Spanish sherry soleras, meaning there is always a well-balanced mix of well-aged and young whisky.

Glenfiddich 26 Year Old Grande Couronne

Speyside's Glenfiddich Distillery looked to France for the inspiration for Grande Couronne. This whisky is aged for 26 years in American and European oak casks including an extended finish in rare French cognac casks – its crowning glory. The nose is full of French patisserie sweetness, baked tarte tatin and toasted oak. The palate reveals a smooth and rich whisky, café crème with plenty sweetness, leading to a long and velvety finish, with a hint of spice and oak.
